Winogradsky/Sobel is pleased to announce our recent signing with Americana/Rock band Blackout Party!
Blackout Party is a 5-piece rock band based in San Diego, CA. They won “Best Americana” at the 2011 San Diego Music Awards, which they were also nominated for in 2010. “B.O.P.” has built up a solid following with residencies at House of Blues, Riviera Supper Club, and has shared the stage with Blue Cheer, Lucero, and White Buffalo at the famed San Diego club the Casbah. Their second album, “Closed Mouth Don’t Get Fed”, was released Oct. 21, 2011 on Mudslide Music. Blackout Pary finished 2011 by opening for My Morning Jacket and Delta Spirit at fm94.9′s annual Holiday Hootenanny. The station added “Spanish Gold” into daily rotation, and the record was 94.9′s “recommended” for the month of November.

“A fun, rollicking rock ‘n’ roll record full of enough good times to fill a long weekend. There’s a sea shanty, some bar room rag, and rock-solid rock and roll throughout. It’s an album that highlights the band’s wide ranging talents and ability to write solid stand alone songs. Though when heard on a whole, it makes for a damn fine all around album.”
“Bottom line: Closed Mouth Don’t Get Fed is one of the best records I’ve heard from ANY San Diego band in 2011. Combine with a spectacular live performance and Blackout Party is a lock to defend its “Best Americana” title in 2012. Don’t let the “Americana” (or any other “country”-sounding references) label scare you, this is a very accessible album for all tastes and one that is certain not to disappoint. The record is out now. Do yourself a favor, whatever your usual genre of choice, and check it out ASAP.”
